ARTISTIC DIRECTOR: Maria Giulia Grazzini

The Cultural Association ”Il Parnaso”, the Artistic director Maria Giulia Grazzini, in collaboration with the Municipality of Montecatini Terme, a Tuscan Spa-town which offered hospitality in the past to the great composers of Italian opera such as Verdi, Leoncavallo and Puccini, is staging the “ M.O.A. International Opera Competition for singing roles”. The Montecatini Opera Competition is a veritable showcase for young singers who aspire to establish themselves on the international scene.

The competition is divided into two sections:

  • Section A: Roles in the opera La Traviata, which will be staged with an orchestra as part of the opera season Montecatini Opera Festival 2019;
  • Section B: Free choice of repertoire, for participants in the concert activities of the opera season Montecatini Opera Festival 2019.

The winners will be offered other concerts and engagements by the partners of the M.O.A.

 

The finals are open to the public and will take place on 24th August 2018 as a Gala performance with orchestra conducted by M°JAN LATHAM-KOENIG, Novaya Opera Theatre – Moscow.

Prizes for winners:
  • roles in the opera La Traviata, which will be staged as part of the opera season “Montecatini Opera Festival 2019” – Montecatini Terme (Italy);
  • concert activities of the opera season “Montecatini Opera Festival 2019” – Montecatini Terme (Italy);
  • roles in the opera La Traviata, which will be staged as part of the Festival “Viva Opera 2019” – Magnitogorsk (Russian Federation);
  • 1 Recital/concert in Roncole di Busseto-Parma (Italy) in Giuseppe Verdi’s birthplace
  • 1 Recital/concert in Moscow (Russian Federation) in collaboration with the  “V.Popov” Academy and the “Svetlana Medvedeva” Foundation.
  • concerts and engagements offered by the partners of the M.O.A.
  • masterclass offered by “ParmaOperart” with M°Bruson in Busseto-Parma (Italy).
